10 Quotes That Define Marvel Cinematic Universe Characters
5. "You Are, All Of You, Beneath Me" (Loki)
Loki is an arrogant, smug, vain megalomaniac with a superiority complex and this quote from the Avengers movie sums him up perfectly. As a Frost Giant who was brought up in Asgard, Loki sees the human race - and all those who live on Earth - as ants who serve no purpose but to serve him (refer to an earlier quote in the same movie in which he asks Nick Fury if an ant has quarrel with a boot when referring to the situation between him and humanity). This is a completely opposing attitude to his adopted brother, Thor, who sees humans as his equal despite the massive difference in strength between he and them. Loki saw Hulk as nothing more than a dumb brute who should be fighting on his behalf - and what happened after (i.e. Hulk beating him down in abrupt, humorous fashion before referring to him as "puny") was even more fitting of the quote, because it emphasised just how deluded Loki was about his dominance and superiority. Full Dialogue *Hulk charges towards Loki to attack him* Loki: "ENOUGH! You are, all of you, beneath me. I am a god, you dull creature, and I will not be bullied by..." *Hulk proceeds to smash Loki in to the ground several times before walking away* Hulk: "Puny god."
