10 R-Rated Characters Ruined In PG-13 Movies
3. Liam Neeson Since 2008
Taken was the action movie nobody realized they wanted when it released in 2008, and Liam Neeson built a new career as an ageing action hero with heart, a brain AND balls...
Taken was known as a hard PG-13, with sequences cut and was an early pioneer of the harder scenes being available on home versions. As the films progressed however along with much of Neeson's career, that PG-13 rating would hamper rather than help. Rather than being convincing, the violence often seemed contrived and somewhat weak.
This spilled over to other Neeson films, especially The A-Team, which would have benefitted accepting the original fans were going to be looking for something more violent and gritty than PG-13 could offer. Unfortunate recent comments have all but ended this career for Neeson, but it's a shame we couldn't get at least one all out R-rated Taken movie.
