10 Random Films That Are REALLY Popular In Certain Countries
4. Most Classic Disney Films - France
Considering Disneyland Paris is the biggest theme park in Europe, it's no surprise that the animation studio is massively popular in France.
At first, that may sound like a redundant statement since Disney is popular pretty much everywhere. But nobody loves the House of Mouse like the French. In terms of ticket sales, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, The Jungle Book, and 101 Dalmatians are all ranked in the top ten. Bambi may have bombed when it premiered but that hasn't stopped it from making more money in France than any entry in Marvel, Star Wars, or Harry Potter.
Now, you might be thinking that since the old Disney flicks did well at the box office, the more recent ones must've made a fortune.
But that isn't the case. Even though Frozen, Frozen II, The Lion King, and The Lion King remake grossed a billion dollars worldwide, they were outperformed in France by The Lady and the Tramp and The Aristocats!
No matter what billion-dollar franchises Hollywood pumps out in the future, it's fair to say the Disney classics will still reign supreme in France.
