10 (Realistic) Directors Who Should Direct A Star Wars Spin-Off Film

If you weren't awoken by the Force then you'll probably be sharpening your pitchforks at the thought of J. J. Abrams directing another Star Wars movie, but can even denouncers of Episode VII deny that Abrams isn't a great fit for the franchise?

Visually the film was stunning, it nailed the tone, and the man knows how to shoot a lightsaber duel without all of the weird flips and overly needless spins and twirls.

Also, Abrams wasn't the only writer on The Force Awakens so he can't shoulder all of the blame for the unoriginal narrative retreading. If polar bears appeared on Jakku then yeah, sure, give him hell, but it's likely that both Kathleen Kennedy and Lawrence Kasdan were more influential on the direction of the story. Some do doubt Abrams' qualities as a writer so there would be every possibility that someone else would write the film for him too, giving him the chance to focus on the job of directing.

It's likely that Abrams would return to the Star Wars Universe if given the chance because he's both a huge fan of the series and he also famously told Rian Johnson that he wished he was making Episode VIII instead of the Looper director.

And currently other than producing God Particle and working as Executive Producer on a number of TV shows, Abrams is yet to announce what he is set to direct next. Could he be waiting for Disney to offer him the chance to direct a Jar Jar Binks spin-off?
