9. Dropping The Weapons (Twice) - Friday The 13th

The heroes in slasher movies notoriously make some baffling decisions throughout. In Friday the 13th, Alice does a pretty decent job overall, but there's one thing in the final act that makes absolutely no sense. Once Alice starts discovering her friends dead, she flees to the cabin nearby. She immediately closes all the windows and grabs not one but two weapons: an iron poker and a baseball bat. Alice then positions herself in the corner so she can fend off any attacker. So far, so good. Once a body is thrown through the window, though, Alice drops both of her weapons. She's in shock, sure, but she has plenty of time to compose herself before heading outside, and she never thinks that she should pick up at least one of them. A few minutes later when Mrs. Voorhees pulls out a knife, Alice goes for the iron poker and hits Mrs. Voorhees with it. Nice, there you go! Then Alice runs out of the cabin... and she drops her weapons again! Now she has even more reason to take them, with a killer on the loose who she's fully aware isn't dead, yet she still decides to flee without the one thing she was using to protect herself.
