10 Reasons Why Batman Fans Are Always Wrong About Everything

9. Casting

A comedian as Batman? Are they crazy? Why so serious, Bat fans? The media and fans were absolutely shocked back in 1989 with the studio casting Michael Keaton as Batman. No muscles? No problem! Rubber suits for everyone! The fact is the movie was successful and still revered by some fans as the iconic Batman movie (though some Batman fans may be wrong about that, too). The same backlash occurred when casting news broke about Heath Ledger as the Joker. Few can argue that his Joker in Christopher Nolan's take on Batman wasn't the highlight of the entire series, and Ledger posthumously won an Oscar for the role. I cannot predict the future, so I won't go so far as to say Batfleck will be successful in portraying an "older, more experienced Batman." However, given fandom's track record thus far, the outburst of fans on the Internet may be eating their words by the time the next movie swoops into cinemas.
