10 Reasons Batman Forever Is Better Than Any Other Batman Movie
2. No Kill-Rule
Ask anybody what they know about Batman's approach to crime-fighting and it's a certainty that the fact Batman doesn't kill will be mentioned.
Watching Batman Forever again, there are some clear questionable decisions that could argue the case that Kilmer isn't completely absconded.
From ensuring Two-Face falls to a watery grave with the old coin lob gag, to watching multiple henchmen burn in a car crash, there are a fair share of Bat-related incidents that GCPD would need to look into. Compared to some other Batmen however, Kilmer is practically a Saint, or The Saint, depending on what movie he's in.
With Snyder looking for that grittier edge, kitting out Batman with guns and writing into the plot how his demeanor had changed so radically during the course of Dawn of Justice, it was expected that the murder count would be high and allowed for a change of heart based on his interactions with Boy Scout Superman. There is no such pass given to Keaton.
He may be seen as one of the best, but judging it on one of the main Bat rules, he's the last rung on the ladder. The bloodlust begins in his first movie, throwing a man to his death down a bell tower and only worsens in 'Returns with bomb attachment and pyromania.
You want a comic accurate Batman? Then it's Kilmer who kills at that.
