3. "Heath Ledger As The Joker? It'll Never Work"

ledger When trawling through the Twitter bile that surfaced today, it's important to remember the notoriously fickle nature of Internet fanboys, especially when it comes to comic book movies. Remember how the Internet swore that Daniel Craig would never work as James Bond, and in relation to comics, how Heath Ledger was going to ruin The Dark Knight as The Joker, and Robert Downey Jr. was just plain wrong for Tony Stark? Back before the Internet, the movie press took Michael Keaton to task for starring in Tim Burton's Batman, and yet, all of these choices were proven to be supremely smart ones. This isn't to say that the Internet has never been right about left-field casting choices, but the backlash against Affleck's casting, though inevitable, isn't really an indication of the actor's ill-fit for the part, but more their stubbornness to see the movie's vision their way, rather than be open-minded for something a little different. Nobody's saying it's going to better Christian Bale's portrayal, but we'll just have to wait and see...
