2. He'll Be Very Different To Christian Bale
Speaking of Bale, the salient point to remember here is that Affleck's portrayal of Batman is destined to be very different to that of Bale's. Given that the nature of Batman vs. Superman's narrative is purportedly going to follow an older Batman facing down a younger Superman, it would make sense that Affleck's Batman might not be as chiseled and muscular as Bale's. More to the point, we should expect a Batman who likely isn't as strikingly intimidating and intense as Bale's, which will help separate it from the Dark Knight Trilogy. The important thing is for Snyder to reduce audience expectations to see simply more of the same that we got with Nolan; with a different actor, it needs to have a different flavour, otherwise disappointment is inevitable. Snyder can keep the formal, gritty aesthetic, but Affleck's Bruce Wayne needs to be an older Bruce with a slightly different perspective. He can still be arrogant and cocky, but he needs to be wiser.
