9. The Soul Stone Could Bring Black Widow Back

One of the surprising deaths of the MCU was Black Widow in Avengers Endgame. The former Avenger sacrificed herself during the time heist on Vormir, in order to acquire the Soul Stone. Despite the impression on screen that it would be impossible for Natasha to come back, the comics may suggest otherwise.

The Soul Stone became very important in the infinity saga in the comics, as it also contained a pocket dimension called the Soul World. This world was the location for exiled enemies and served as character resurrection storylines. Some fans believe that the soul world was present in Avengers: Infinity War, shortly after Thanos wiped half of the universe from existence.

The Mad Titan is seen just after the Snap emerging in world of orange, with a young Gamora located there. In Avengers: Infinity War, Gamora was the individual sacrificed for the Soul Stone and that may well be the reason why she was present in the scene.

So why is this important to Black Widow?

Well, there is strong speculation that Robert Downey Jr may be making a cameo in the upcoming film. It may be plausible that his appearance may be completely based on the fallout from Captain America: Civil War, following Black Widow’s betrayal to allow Steve Rodgers to escape. However, there is also a good chance of a post-credit scene involving Iron Man entering the soul world and trading lives with Black Widow, which would allow a return for the Russian Avenger.
