10 Reasons Captain America: Civil War Beat Batman v Superman

3. New Characters Are Introduced Seamlessly

Chadwick Boseman's Black Panther may be the most badass character in all of Civil War. He's an incredible fighter, he steals every action scene he's in, and he's probably the smartest character in the whole movie. He goes through so much and it all works wonderfully to set up his own solo film.

Characters in Batman v Superman aren't introduced so seamlessly. Though Affleck and Gadot do the best they could with the material they were given, their characters are still largely just dropped into this movie with no real set-up. It's explained very quickly why we haven't heard of Black Panther or Spider-Man before Civil War. How come no one's said anything about Batman before now?

Wonder Woman we get some explanation, she says she left the world of man so she hasn't been seen since WWI. But if she's left the world of man, then why does she even care if Luthor has a picture of her from WWI? How does she know he has that picture if she's left?

Although the argument could be made that Spider-Man is just dropped in, he doesn't randomly appear in the story. The Russos give Tony a reason for seeking out Peter Parker and they give Peter a reason for siding with Tony.

Marvel has mastered the art of seamlessly introducing new characters. DC just drops them in and tells us not to ask questions.
