10 Reasons DCEU Movies Will Never Catch Up To The MCU
7. Too Many Versions Of The Same Characters
Whereas we're now seeing Marvel Studios expand the MCU to television with Disney+, there are still half a dozen different shared worlds in the DCEU. For example, there's the world of Joker, The CW's Arrowverse, shows like Titans and Doom Patrol on DC Universe, and the films starring members of the Justice League...who now barely reference their connections to each other.
It's all extremely confusing, but worse than that is the fact these TV shows often feature characters we're also seeing in films. There's more than one Flash (which was acknowledged by Crisis on Infinite Earths), another Superman, and even a second version of Cyborg. Which of these versions do we root for, and what happens when one is better than the other?
It doesn't help that Warner Bros. handcuffs those shows by then not allowing them to use certain characters (Task Force X and Batman are two recent examples in Arrow and Batwoman), all while letting them feature other big name heroes and villains. It feels like the studio is spreading this so-called DCEU too thin, whereas the MCU continues focusing on building just ONE world.
