10 Reasons DCEU Movies Will Never Catch Up To The MCU

6. #ReleaseTheSnyderCut

DCEU No Chance
Warner Bros.

It's great that Zack Snyder's original vision for Justice League will be released next year, and a well-deserved reward for the fans who have passionately campaigned for it since November 2017. As was mentioned above, Warner Bros. made a blunder, and they're now looking to set that right by delivering this director's cut on the HBO Max streaming service.

However, this also highlights how poorly run the DCEU really is. Right now, Suicide Squad director David Ayer is making it clear on Twitter that the version of that released in 2016 was not his film. He wants fans to see the "Ayer Cut," and while Warner Bros. is spending $20 million - $30 million on the Snyder Cut to rectify past mistakes, what about the future of this shared world?

With no slate in place, that remains as mysterious and unplanned as ever. If Warner Bros. has to go back and fix a film from three years ago, how can fans trust anything that comes next? Is there a better version of Harley Quinn: Birds of Prey on the cutting room floor? Why get excited for James Gunn's The Suicide Squad if it will just go the same way as the last instalment?

Putting these doubts in the minds of fans is not good, and doesn't bode well for the future.
