10 Reasons Disney Needs To Make Solo 2 Happen

7. Alden Ehrenreich Allegedly Signed A Three Movie Deal

Back in 2018, Alden Ehrenreich announced that he had signed a three-movie deal with Lucasfilm, seemingly confirming Solo sequels sometime down the line.

While the reports did not specify that Ehrenreich would be the lead in all of these movies, it's clear that Disney had been intending their take on the younger Han Solo to appear in future spin-off films.

With all Star Wars Story ideas on the backburner, it is interesting to speculate whether - and in what capacity - Ehrenreich will appear in Star Wars films in the future. Disney doubtlessly has enough money to buy actors out of their contracts, but even if a Solo 2 never happens, it is worth wondering whether Ehrenreich's Solo will appear in other future Star Wars projects.

A Lando Star Wars Story could work, with Glover being the movie's lead and Ehrenreich being a supporting actor. Despite his apparent cynicism in A New Hope, Solo proved that Han always had a heart of gold in him; maybe another spin-off could see Han meeting Cassian Andor of Rogue One fame, helping out the early Rebellion. Admittedly unlikely given his all but confirmed appearance in The Mandalorian, but if a Boba Fett Star Wars Story ever comes to fruition, fans could see that the rivalry between Fett and Han started before the events of the Original Trilogy, giving Fett's original appearances more emotional weight.

Still, a direct sequel would be preferred, perhaps involving a confrontation between Han (working for Jabba) and Kira (working for Maul) at the end.
