10 Reasons Disney Needs To Make Solo 2 Happen
6. It Ends Ambiguously
Unlike Rogue One, which had about as final an ending as any film can have, Solo ends somewhat ambiguously. Kira's story - which in many ways provided the movie's backbone of conflict - just trails off at the end, with seemingly no plans to take up her story where it left off.
What's more, it seems unfair to tease a live action Maul without giving him adequate screen time, or allowing fans to see a revived mechanised Maul in action. Given Maul's fan favourite status and prominent role in The Clone Wars, his cameo towards the end of Solo was one of the film's most talked about points, but ultimately seems to have led to nothing, just another excuse for shallow profit-driven merchandising.
Given Han's insistence on never encountering the Force in A New Hope, it seems unlikely he will ever come across Maul, but a Sequel that focuses on Crimson Dawn and Kira would be welcome, with a parallel story following Han's induction into the criminal underworld by Jabba The Hutt.
This take on a Solo sequel could prove to be one of the darkest Star Wars movies to date, fully exploring the insidious world of crime syndicates only hinted at in Solo and The Clone Wars, finishing Kira's story while tying the live action films more closely with the beloved Clone Wars cartoon -- with even more potential for a Rogue One crossover here.
