10 Reasons Film Buffs Are Single

6. I'm Sorry I'm Not Ava Gardner or James Dean

Annex-Dean-James-Rebel-Without-a-Cause_01-600x300 If you've been in a long term relationship, you have to admit there have been times when you wished your boyfriend or girlfriend had certain other qualities. Maybe you wished your boyfriend was more considerate of other people or you wish your girlfriend would invest herself in your interests more. With a cinephile, they are going to wish you had the certain qualities of a famous actor or actress. They're either going to wish you were more like a certain character from a movie or like the actual actor or actress themselves. Don't believe me? How many times have you watched an interview with a certain actor or actress and wished you could meet someone like them? Someone quirky and charming like Zooey Deschanel or Anna Kendrick, or someone talented and cute like Joseph Gordon-Levitt. The cinephile will do the same thing except you'll have no idea how to please him. "I wish you were classier like Audrey Hepburn." Sorry I'm not from the '50s. "I wish you were suave like James Dean." Sorry I don't look like James Franco. "Why can't you be more mature and wise and protective?" Sorry I'm not Gandalf. "Man, Blake Lively is hoooooot." I wish I had never gone out with you.

I'm a thinker/fantasizer who writes down his thoughts and fantasies hoping it makes sense to everyone else. Also I'm an aspiring screenwriter, but if I can work in film at all, I'd be happy. One day you may hear the name Ryan Kim and associate it with "Academy Award winning writer" or with "where's that guy with my coffee." If the latter comes true, please let it be Paul Thomas Anderson's coffee I'm getting.
