4. But You Always Choose...
I like to believe that relationships are equally yoked and there is a sense of balance in deciding certain things. Where to eat dinner? You choose this time and I'll choose next time. Cool. You want to go out or just stay in? What do you feel like doing? I want to do what you want to do. But I want to do what you want to do. But I said it first...and the make out session begins. At least for those who are still in high school, maybe college? What movie do you want to watch? Ah. There's the money question and cinephiles do not leave that choice up to chance. Remember, cinephiles will choose what movie to watch; there are no ifs, ands, or buts. It's a privilege, a right, a responsibility of the cinephile to form your cinematic tastes and to show you what a true film is. So, instead of the new Brett Ratner movie, you'll be watching a Terrence Malick film; prepare not to laugh. Want to see Transformers 4? Wait for the DVD and for the cinephile to leave town. Until then, I hope you're content with Oscar nominated foreign films which usually play in an art house theater, perhaps an hour away from where you live.
