10 Reasons The Force Awakens Is A Terrible Star Wars Title

1. It Lacks The Feel Of An Iconic Title

There are intangibles in the entertainment world. Sometimes it's just a feeling - and besides being average, The Force Awakens doesn't have the feel of an iconic title. To explain that, lets look at the very first summer blockbuster - Jaws. Jaws was based on a novel, of course, by Peter Benchley, so the title was already there to be used, but the studio probably could have worked for a name change. After all, Jaws would seem to be pretty average - but it was also so straight-forward, so self-explanatory that it was perfect. The Terminator - simple, but perfect. Star Wars (the original, never mind that A New Hope was added back later) - perfect. The Force Awakens? It just doesn't have that ring to it. That's not to say that the film can't be a fantastic classic. It's just not a title that really captures the imagination. Add your thoughts on the title and your ideas below!
