10 Reasons The Force Awakens Is A Terrible Star Wars Title
3. It Lacks Impact
A title in a major film series needs impact. Revenge of the Sith had it (and happened to be the best movie in the prequel trilogy). It's the reason, frankly, that the upcoming Hobbit film The Battle of the Five Armies has that name, and not There And Back Again as was originally planned (you can argue that There And Back Again was deserved because of its link to the novel, but that's another matter). The Force Awakens lacks any of that gravitas. It's just a title. It's average, and average doesn't cut it. In fact maybe that's the biggest problem with this title - since when was Star Wars ever average?
