10 Reasons Ghostbusters Isn't As Bad As You Think
8. Chris Hemsworth Steals The Show
There's something vaguely ironic about the best character in the movie being a man, with Chris Hemsworth's ditzy secretary Kevin effortlessly stealing every scene he's in.
That's not a knock on the central quartet of actresses, simply that Hemsworth's material is far more surreal and bizarre than anything else in the film, and he's clearly relishing the opportunity to undermine his own popular, muscle-bound image.
In fairness, Hemsworth was the funniest part of the trailers too, so that's one aspect where the marketing was totally on the money. He has a bigger role than you may expect, and almost every single gag of his connects, which is more than be said for the more scattershot bulk of the movie. If Columbia are smart, they're already working out a deal for him to appear in the sequel in just as big if not bigger a capacity.
Plus, from a more cynical perspective, having Thor in your movie probably makes it easier to market to men (and well, women love him too).
