10 Reasons Guardians Of The Galaxy Is Better Than The Avengers

10. There's More To Look Out For

Easter eggs are something we look out for in all movies these days, as directors pay homage to their previous works and anything else related to the project in question with subtle inclusions in the background of their movies, but none more so than in comic book movies and Guardians of the Galaxy was able to provide more than most due to the very nature of the story. Most prominently, we saw the Collector's collection of powerful, priceless and rare items and species in his warehouse on Knowhere - the cosmic location that is actually the severed head of a giant, ancient Celestial. This enabled the movie's creators to include all kind of things, as we saw things like Cosmo the Spacedog, a Dark Elf, a Chitauri soldier, Adam Warlock's cocoon, creatures from "Slither" (another James Gunn movie) and Howard the Duck (who also appeared in the post-credits scene, voiced by Seth Green) - as well as a whole lot more. Keen-eyed viewers will also have noticed other things throughout the movie like the Other from the Avengers movie, the fact that Ronan is the same species as the creature that kept Phil Coulson alive in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. (a Kree), Sakaraans, several references to Indiana Jones, cameos from a number of James Gunn's friends (like Nathan Fillion and Lloyd Kaufman) and numerous other pop culture references, thanks to Peter Quill's origins on Earth, such as Footloose and John Stamos. The Avengers had a lot of this kind of thing, Guardians of the Galaxy had a hell of a lot more.
