10 Reasons Guardians Of The Galaxy Is Better Than The Avengers

9. It Is Completely Devoted To Its Bonkers Concept

The concept of Guardians of the Galaxy is pretty crazy. Essentially, a half-alien kid got kidnapped and taken from Earth 26 years ago, with the intention of being taken back to his alien father. Yondu, the alien who took him, along with his group of Ravagers, raised him as an outlaw. He ends up in a space jail and, along with a bunch of rag-tag aliens, escapes and ends up saving the universe. Yeah, it sounds ridiculous, but by simply going for it and forgetting that it actually IS ridiculous, Marvel still made it seem feasible - without taking itself too seriously. Basically, the balance between enthralling plot and tongue-in-cheek humour is perfect. We've got something here that is so far removed from anything else that we've seen in the Marvel Cinematic Universe that it could have turned out as a joke (in the negative sense of the word). But Marvel believed in it and you can tell that throughout the movie. As a result, the final product is something of a masterpiece.
