10 Reasons Guardians Of The Galaxy Is Better Than The Avengers

3. The Soundtrack

Never has there been a more fitting soundtrack to a movie - seriously, it's that good. Marvel have used a wide variety of eclectic music in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (AC/DC's "Back in Black", Eiffel 65's "Blue" and the Foo Fighter's "Walk" to name but a few examples), but this was just awesome. The music in Guardians of the Galaxy does more than just sound great - it serves a purpose. It's the only link that Peter Quill has to his home world of Earth, as one of the only things he had on him when he was taken by Yondu and the Ravagers in 1988 was his cassette walkman. As a result, he wanders around space listening to music like Blue Swede's "Hooked on a Feeling", Redbone's "Come and Get Your Love", The Jackson 5's "I Want You Back" and The Runaways' "Cherry Bomb". While it makes for a surreal overall experience, it simply works - and we can't really explain why. It just does. It makes for a number of memorable and humorous scenes - such as when Quill uses some kind of space rodent as a microphone while singing the aforementioned Come and Get Your Love - and we guarantee you'll come away with these songs stuck in your head and wanting to download his "awesome" mix soundtrack.
