3. Not Enough Jim Carrey
One would be forgiven for assuming that Jim Carrey had a starring role in Kick-Ass 2, given how much his presence has been played up in the trailers, and more to the point, how vocally Carrey refused to publicise the film following his sudden growth of a conscience in the wake of the Sandy Hook shootings. Though Carrey is a riot when he appears on screen virtually unrecognisable both visually and aurally, his screen time is curiously reigned-in, and in total he appears for
perhaps 15 minutes of the movie. Carrey doesn't really get any great zingers, and then is taken out of the film when his neck is snapped and he is decapitated by Mother Russia. The problem is that by this point we haven't had all that much time to care about Colonel Stars 'n Stripes, and so the death ends up not meaning much, nor does Carrey's contribution to the movie. Given how little violence he metes out throughout his brief role, it's surprising he bothered to denounce it in the first place. That he fleets in and out only compounds this fact.
