10 Reasons Kong: Skull Island Might Be 2017's Most Surprising Success

7. It Looks Gorgeous

Furthering its rejection of the gritty, realistic take on things, Kong: Skull Island separates itself visually, too. Based on the trailer, one of the film's main strengths will be its aesthetic, which revolves heavily around the use of colour.

Seriously, the whole trailer is bursting with it, from the bright yellow markings on the indigenous islanders to the orange, sun-bathed glow of the island. Even something as simple as the clothing worn by the characters pops from the screen in a way that's fairly uncommon these days, with many big budget action films seeming washed out in comparison.

Ultimately, this lends the overall look of the film a more animated quality, allowing the CGI of Kong and the other creatures to blend in much more seamlessly.
