10 Reasons Marvel Shouldn't Mix The MCU And Netflix Characters

8. Keep It Real

With the release of Doctor Strange the MCU has now moved into the realm of magic and wizardry. Described in Thor as essentially 'alien science' Strange has moved the MCU away from explanations and straight into downright sorcery. Daredevil has dabbled in mysticism with the Black Sky element, but for the most part magical powers and mystical realms have been left out.

Again with the street-level focus of the Netflix shows, the addition of mystical powers would clash with the surrounding environment. Knife wielding low-level lawbreakers aren't much of a match against annihilating balls of energy launched at your face.

Daredevil, Jones and Cage have superpowers but they are... softer than their cinematic comrades. A lot of what Jessica can do is kept off screen and though Luke Cage can take out corridors of thugs without much effort, his powers are nowhere near the magnitude of Strange or Thor.

Keeping the Netflix world away from the magic and space opera shenanigans is necessary to the small-scale charm the shows have handled so well. Though Iron Fist could be planning to ruin this anyway.
