10 Reasons Nightmare On Elm Street 3 Is Secretly The Best Freddy Film

2. Death Scenes That Swing For The Fences

The original Elm Street will always be home to two of the most iconic death scenes in horror history, there is no debating that. What you could say is, for better or worse, they were rather straightforward in their conception. You sort of imagine Craven and co. playing a personal game of €œwouldn't it be freaky if€€ without overdoing things. Dream Warriors, what with its better tools and a natural onus to expand on its predecessors, sports some scenes where they really seem to let their imaginations run wild. Many people might be able to dream up (no pun intended) the scene where the killer chases Tina down and proceeds to slash her up in her sleep€ but it took a special kind of brainstorm to say €œhey, what if we made puppet strings out of his arteries?€ or €œhey, what if Dick Cavett slashed Zsa Zsa's face off?€ Dream Warriors also saw the birth of the topical death scene tailored to the dreamer's personality, as well as the Freddy punchline. Once again, regrettably, it would mark the last time all of this would be pulled off in any sort of scary way€
