10 Reasons Prometheus 2 Should Be Scrapped For Alien 5

7. We Want To Finish Ripley's Story

In a recent interview just last month, Sigourney Weaver opened up about (the rather meager) prospect of a fifth Alien film, confirming that she'd still love for it to happen. She said, €œI feel a longing from fans for the story to be finished...I could imagine a situation where we finish telling the story.€ In fairness, the events of Alien 3 and Alien: Resurrection do place Ripley in something of a precarious position as a character, considering that she is now a human-alien clone, and has a substantially different personality to the Ripley we knew from the first three movies. That said, Weaver has been the most potent and attention-grabbing human presence in these movies (even in Resurrection), and now that they've got the messy, awkward business out the way of finding a way to bring Ripley back, can we not just accept it and move forward with another Ripley movie? It wasn't the most tidy and logical way to bring the character back, sure (which, considering she died, isn't surprising), but now that she's alive and kicking in a sense, can we not just enjoy it and have another movie about Ripley battling some Xenomorphs? Please? Sig may be in her mid-60s now, but any day of the week we'd bank that she'd still be credible as our favourite alien-slayer.
