10 Reasons You Shouldn't Be Worried About Jurassic World

8. The Child Actors Aren't Going To Suck

Yes, it's a fair complaint that child characters can frequently ruin movies, and of course, the characters of Lex and Timmy are often cited as the most annoying and unnecessary aspects of the original movie. This first trailer for Jurassic World makes it clear that the plot appears to revolve heavily around two brothers, Zach (Nick Robinson) and Gray (Ty Simpkins), who are sent to Jurassic World by their parents (Judy Greer and Andy Buckley), where their aunt Claire (Bryce Dallas Howard) also works. Things go haywire and their lives are inevitably in danger: pretty standard Jurassic Park fare, right? What's worth considering here is that director Trevorrow hasn't just plucked two cute youngsters out of a line-up: he's hand-picked two great up-and-coming actors with fine careers ahead of them. For starters, Nick Robinson (who was, in fact, 18 at the time of filming anyway) was the great lead in last year's coming-of-age comedy The Kings of Summer, and has also starred in an episode of Boardwalk Empire. Then there's Ty Simpkins, best to known to audiences as Tony Stark's pint-sized sidekick Harley in Iron Man 3, but he's also worked on a ton of acclaimed movies, such as Little Children, Revolutionary Road and Insidious, as well as being lined up for Shane Black's new movie The Nice Guys. In short, even if the script writes the characters as relatively annoying, these two have as good a chance as any young actors of actually making it work. They're extremely talented and shouldn't disappoint.
