10 Reasons Snyder's Batman Will Be Superior To Nolan's
3. He'll Be Truer To The Comics
The storylines in Nolans Dark Knight trilogy drew inspiration from some of the most important comic book arcs in the characters history, including the Long Halloween, No Mans Land and Batman: Year One. Nolan filtered these essential Batman tales through his realistic approach, resulting in stories that only loosely resembled their source material. This approached worked for Nolans films, but Snyder has shown he wants to go a different route. Despite its divisive reception among critics and fans, Snyders Man of Steel did not shy away from its comic book origins; Supermans epic battle with Zod would have been right at home in the panels of a comic book. This is a very positive sign for comic book fans. Snyder has set the tone for the DC expanded universe, and it is decidedly comic book in attitude and presentation. It is almost certain that his take on Batman will follow suit, delivering super heroics unabashedly. Snyder has free reign to develop fantasy-heavy storylines for the Caped Crusader with a greater fidelity to the source material than the Dark Knight trilogy possessed. This means fans of the Batman they have grown up reading Batman adventures in the comics are in for a treat.
