10 Reasons Solo Is The Worst Star Wars Film To Date
4. Terrible Action
There isn't nearly enough action in Solo and when it does happen, it's the most lame and uninspired action in Star Wars history.
Obviously the terrible plot didn't help, but the action in this film is unimaginative, lacking in stakes, tension-free and doesn't have any flair. In fairness, the heist scene in the first act is solid but the other action scenes never top that.
The Kessel Run was one of the most anticipated moments in the movie but it entirely failed to deliver. It's a bizarre and tension-free action scene involving the Millennium Falcon flying through some clouds and asteroids with a giant space squid thrown in for good measure. The finale is even worse, with too many abrupt betrayals and not enough actual action to work.
Star Wars, even in its weaker movies, is normally a complete blast in regards to action and many of the action scenes in the Prequels are genuinely brilliant, so they were able to distract from their weak scripts. Solo, on the other hand, doesn't have any good spectacle to fall back on.
