6. Darth Vader Might Make An Appearance
Few cinematic villains are as iconic as Darth Vader. He consistently ranks at the top of polls of greatest villains of all-time and the character has become so ingrained in the western cultural consciousness that species of
beetles have been named after him and hes been the subject of
psychiatric studies. Even though Vader hasnt graced the silver screen since 2005s Revenge Of The Sith, hes still so popular a recent poll even suggests he would fare well if he made a
run for president of the United States (although, to be fair, he is less evil than Trump). The crew over at MakingStarWars recently announced that their sources have confirmed Vader will appear in Rogue One. The nature and size of the Sith Lords role is up for speculation, but including him at all even in a limited capacity will increase the anthology films drawing power substantially. Nostalgia played a big part in The Force Awakens' success, and Disney would be foolish not to capitalise on that to up the latest film in the sagas tally. After all, including Vaders melted helmet in Episode VIIs trailers was enough to pique fans interest; if Rogue One's marketing material contains footage of a living, breathing Vader the hype around the film will explode.
