10 Reasons The Dark Tower Bombed

4. The Worrying 95-Minute Run-Time

The movie's 95-minute run-time was revealed around two weeks before it hit cinemas, and while for plenty of films that's a perfect amount of time, it did feel rather on the scant side for something with source material this dense and elaborate, and it was likely one of the reasons why many didn't bother to see it.

It was yet another red flag to fans that this might be a bungled adaptation, and perhaps more casual audiences simply preferred to put their hard-earned cash towards a two-plus-hour blockbuster promising a little more bang for their buck.

When you slice off the credits, The Dark Tower doesn't even break 90 minutes, and true to expectations, it's clear that the end product was hacked to pieces in a desperate attempt to make it appeal to as wide an audience as possible. Ironically, the opposite seems to have happened, and it's a rushed, oft-nonsensical mess.
