10 Reasons To Be Excited For Marvel Phase Three
4. Civil War Is Coming
And how did Marvel answer the threat of Batman vs. Superman? By essentially turning Captain America 3 into Avengers 3.
Many expected Marvel’s Civil War storyline to eventually come into play, just not this early in the universe and certainly not under the Captain America name. It is a brilliant sight to see the widely successful story get its chance on the big screen.
The buzz about the film has been enhanced even more by the rather surprising casting of Martin Freeman in an unconfirmed role (Sherlock fans will no doubt be hoping he’s cast in a role that would see him return in Doctor Strange alongside Benedict Cumberbatch), and the rumours a certain webslinger will find his way in the mix have got fans talking – more on that later.
This is Marvel’s first film since Batman v Superman, and they will not risk losing face by being the weaker product. While DC are still desperately trying to keep up with their rivals in erratic fashion, Marvel are calmly sprinting towards their finish line as Captain America: Civil War is gearing up to be the must see blockbuster of 2016.
