5. The Toy Story Trilogy
Without a doubt, the 3 initial Toy Story films are as cohesive and brilliant as any films can get (I say initial 3, as Toy Story 4 is currently in the pipeline). Together they tell an arching story of love between toys and their owner, Andy. Throughout the years and essentially playing out in real time through the years, these films have followed the adventures of toys come to life as they love and care for not only each other, but most importantly support Andy, their owner who is but a young schoolager in the first film, and then a full fledged college freshman by the 3rd film. These films arguably stand tall in the pantheon of other great trilogies such as The Lord of The Rings and Star Wars (original episodes 4,5,6), and are the only animated films to do so.
