2. The Infamous Plastic Shark Shot

Jaws Plastic Shark Soon after The Revenge saw release, movie buffs were keen to point out a split second shot that tells you all you need to know about how bothered the film makers were. Sloppy editing or just an all round attitude of "That'll do", you decide, but one split second we catch a glimpse of the least convincing Shark model ever to have graced screens. Then for no reason, the shark explodes on impact with the boat, which then proceeds to inexplicably sink. We are treated to a shot of flying blood and guts, but the speedily produced effects look worse in quality than Adam Sandler's acting portfolio of the last five years. In short, it's a mess of an ending, in the worst way. The original ending is not much of an improvement, seeing a discolored shark jump vertically and spew one pathetic jet of blood when stabbed, but at least it makes sense. Well, at least more sense than explosion on impact.
