10 Reasons Why Legacy Characters Are The Future Of The MCU

10. Minimal Set-Up Required

Considering the fact that we'd already be familiar with the characters - all of which are already in place as allies and/or protégés - it'd require very little of Joe Q. Public's attention span to keep up with the passing of the mantle. All it would require is a simple death scene, a period of contemplation where another character considers taking up that identity, and you're off. As far as each major character goes, there are already characters in place who can adopt each respective cowl. More than that, they are characters who have already adopted those mantles in the pages of Marvel comic books, which gives a good amount of precedence. Steve Rogers has been succeeded in the role of Captain America by both the Winter Soldier and the Falcon; Rhodey stepped into the red-and-gold titanium boots of Iron Man in the past; and even Jane Foster is currently rocking the nine realms as Thor, after being found worthy of lifting Mjolnir. All of these characters already exist in the MCU, and each actor would probably relish the opportunity to take centre stage. Bonus round: superhero death scenes done right are amazing to watch, in a morbidly beautiful way. Nothing gets the heart strings going like a noble sacrifice.
