9. He Has A Crazy Work Ethic
Nicolas Cage has made more than 30 films over the course of the last 12 years. For any actor - hack or otherwise - that's an extremely impressive work ethic. Granted, most of said films are terrible or barely worthy of a single watch, but "making movies" is what an actor is supposed to do - that's their job. It's what they're paid to do. And all things considered, the actors who are always taking long breaks between movies, delicately picking their roles, and constantly reaching for Awards, aren't doing their jobs properly. I mean, yes, they have the right to do that if they want to (and with their salaries, they surely can), but an actor's job is to act in stuff. For a living. As work. Nicolas Cage is doing that, and arguably more than any other actor in Hollywood. He reads a script and if he thinks there's something to gain from making the movie (even if it is just for money), he signs on. But you wouldn't chastise a window cleaner for picking a "sub-par job", would you? It's work. Actors need to work. And Nic Cage is setting a worthy example in Hollywood, whether people respect that or not.
