Sam Mendes has brought along his regular cinematographer Roger Deakins, who gave some of his previous films such as Jarhead and Revolutionary Road their lavish visuals and sumptuous style. While he€™s worked with Mendes on several films, Roger Deakins is perhaps best known for his collaborations with the Coen Brothers, often bringing their oddball worlds to life. Be it the snowy landscapes of Fargo, or True Grit€™s lush western iconography, Deakins has created some truly memorable visuals. Bizarre as it might be for such a talented cinematographer, Deakins has yet to win an Oscar, despite having been nominated a whopping nine times. Could Skyfall be the film which finally gives Deakins his long overdue Oscar ?
