10 Reasons The X-Men Films Should Completely Reboot

6. Too Many Pointless Deaths And Rebirths

X-Men - Cyclops Death The comic book world loves to call mulligans on characters that they€™ve killed off. They want to make sure that we€™ll never be without Superman. I see the practical need for it, but when it€™s done too often or too soon it becomes a major problem. Death has no emotional impact, we lose any sense of real danger or loss, and the audience begins to distrust the foundation a narrative is built on. It has no meaning when you kill (or depower) a character if you€™re just going to bring them back in a major role for the next movie. Despite dying twice, Jean continued to be featured in The Wolverine. Xavier didn€™t make it through one movie vaporized. Magneto was cured of his powers from the climax too just before the credits. If what is supposed to be a permanent change is so temporary, you might as well just be knocking X-Men figurines together like a child.
