It may not have looked like the costume that debuted during Secret Wars, but the black suit costume was done remarkably well in its big screen outing. Tobey Maguire could not have just swung around in black with the white emblem on his chest; the suit had to match the look which had been set in the preceding films. Peters persona changed, giving us the cringeworthy dance scene, but so too did Spider-Man. He became violent and bloodthirsty, seeking revenge against Flint Marko for the murder of Uncle Ben. Even everyday street criminals caught the fury of this new side of Spider-Man. Then the film paid homage to the famous comic book panels where the suit is expelled from Peter through church bells and falls onto the unsuspecting Eddie Brock below him. Considering how iconic a storyline this is, and how well it has been depicted on TV and in the comics, it is amazing that the film managed to pull this feat off. What do you think about Spider-Man 3? Does this convince you? Were any points missed? Let us know in the comments below!
