10 Reasons You’re Wrong About Spider-Man 3

10. There Was A Decent Plot

The third Spider-Man film had a number of different plot threads; there was Peter and MJ€™s relationship, the budding romance of Eddie Brock with Gwen Stacy, Harry's bitter crusade for revenge against his father's killer and, on top of all of this, Sandman trying to provide for his sick child. This multifaceted plot was a joy to watch as it wove together these threads into a final showdown. This is a remarkable feat for the writers of the movie, and it makes viewers think about the characters, giving them a level of depth that they otherwise would not have. There is no shortage of films that place a higher premium on action, explosions, and violence than they do on having a strong story - just look at the debacle that is Transformers: Age of Extinction - but Spider-Man 3 managed to bind its action sequences together with a surprisingly solid story. There is a decent criticism that there was too much going on, but having a complex story almost always trumps having nothing but empty violence.
