10 Reasons Zack Snyder Is The Worst Possible Director For Batman Vs. Superman Movie

6. He's No Joss Whedon

joss-whedon The only other man, other than Nolan, too make a superhero movie blockbuster the size DC is going for with Batman vs. Superman. Now obviously Whedon would have a different tone than has been successful with the DC movies. But there are several reasons why he is the better option than Snyder. His dialogue rocks. One of the reasons The Avengers was so successful is that the dialogue was just as interesting as the fight scenes(ex. "I'm always angry"). Meanwhile, Snyder's best example of snappy dialogue wasn't even written by him. Thanks Alan Moore. He's just plain fun. His stories are always entertaining, whether they feature inter-dimensional alien armies, vampire slayers, or evil doctors. While Snyder fails at many things, being entertaining usually isn't one of them. But it's not the same as when Whedon does it. When Snyder is making us have fun, it's because of the sheer ridiculousness of the situation he's showing. Whedon makes the situation entertaining on many levels(see dialogue). People like Whedon. Buffy, Dr. Horrible, The Avengers, Firefly, the list goes on and on. When Joss Whedon is responsible for something people come to see it. Snyder is not loved in the same way. In fact he is a director placed with Michael Bay and M. Night Shyamalan on people's "it's just not worth it" list. You can't expect Snyder to be like Whedon, or even like Nolan; but we expect DC would pick someone who at least comes close.
