3. I Know What You Did Last Summer (2025)
Seeing a classic horror movie franchise receive a legacy-tarnishing soft reboot is a tale as old as time, and, unfortunately, 2025's attempt to bring the mystery slasher I Know What You Did Last Summer back into the limelight was no exception.
It was a stale movie that failed to modernise the franchise, relying too heavily on nostalgia and lacklustre scares. However, while the flick being shoddy was enough to piss fans off in itself, what really turned everyone's rage nuclear was the decision to ruin one of the most popular legacy characters.

The film made the baffling choice to turn returning actor Freddie Prinze Jr.'s beloved character, Ray, into a villain. Yes, the heroic semi-protagonist was revealed to be one of the killers in a completely unearned twist that made barely any sense.
There are certainly times when a twist like this can work, but Ray's poor motivation and dramatic shift were so out of place that it completely contradicted everything the character stood for. It failed to save the movie and only served to make everyone mad.
