10 Recent Horror Movies That Pissed Everyone Off
4. Together (2025)
Now, this is a unique entry, as, unlike every other item on this list, Together (2025) is not a bad horror movie. In fact, it's the opposite; it's a gross yet compelling flick that delivers on some excellent body horror and executes its horrifying premise very well. The only issue is how original that premise actually is.
Together tells the story of a couple whose bodies begin to mysteriously fuse together. It's a very unique idea, but one that sounded a little too familiar to writer/director Patrick Henry Phelan, creator of Better Half (2023), a movie that tells the story of a pair of lovers whose bodies begin to mysteriously fuse together, and, oh, yeah, that sounds familiar.
This plagiarism case alleged that the script for Better Half had been pitched to Together's leading/producing couple, Dave Franco and Alison Brie, only for them to reject it, take the idea, and produce it themselves. Whether you believe these accusations or not, there's no denying that the controversy pissed off a lot of people and left a sour taste in horror fans' mouths.
