10 Recent Horror Movies That Were Sent Out To Die

6. Demonic

Don't Breathe 2

If you thought there were way too many demon possession movies... too bad, here's another one. Demonic centres around a young woman who tries to help her catatonic mother after her body is taken over by a supernatural entity.

Demonic is so bizarre, there's literally nothing that can prepare you for it. Considering it deals with sanatorium conspiracies, virtual reality simulations, magical weapons, and militarised gun-toting exorcists, it may very well be one of the nuttiest movies in recent history.

It's so zany, Demonic would be pretty entertaining if it wasn't so badly shot and poorly edited. Because of how badly it's directed you'd assume this forgettable flick was made by a film student.

However, Demonic was actually directed by... Oscar-nominated filmmaker, Neill Blomkamp. At one time, the District 9 director was seen as the next Spielberg. And now, he's making moves so insipidly underwhelming, it's embarrassing to watch them.

Even though Blomkamp's previous work relied on heavy-handed social commentaries, you could tell each story was deeply personal to him. But Demonic is so sloppily inane, you can't understand why the visionary director bothered to make it.
