10 Recent Indie Horror Movies To Watch This Halloween

8. One Cut Of The Dead (2017)

If you're looking for something a bit less horrifying and a bit more hilarious this Halloween season, One Cut of the Dead will certainly satisfy your desires.

A film filled with unexpected twists and turns and providing interesting meta commentary on the zombie genre, this Japanese comedy lends itself to fans of many other horror comedies such as The Cabin in the Woods and Tucker and Dale vs Evil.

The movie follows a production crew desperately working to finish their zombie film when things start to become far too real, and they must soon fight off real zombies as well. And don't think that means they're off the hook on the film: they still need to complete that, too.

The energy of the film is contagious and each of the actors do well in escalating the tension from one scene to the next, and as more details of the situation are revealed to the audience, the movie becomes even more captivating. One Cut of the Dead is the perfect movie if you're looking to laugh at absurdity or see someone finally do something new with the now tired zombie genre.
