Horror doesn't always mean ghosts and zombies. Sometimes, it's far more real. With a film like Green Room, you won't so easily be able to convince yourself that you'll never go through this as well.

The story follows Pat, played by the late Anton Yelchin who delivers an empathetic "average guy" performance, and his band who, after witnessing a murder during their concert, find themselves trapped in a small room and surrounded by an onslaught of Neo-nazis looking to kill them.

This film feels desperate, gritty, and exhausting, like the characters are just clinging to life. It creates an anxious atmosphere, each minute seeming like the pot is just about to boil over. The tension is only released in quick bursts of violence, each one plunging the band deeper into the fire. It feels like the Safdie Brothers' Good Time or Uncut Gems somehow turned up to 11.

The film isn't especially complex, but its execution elevates it far past its premise, so if you're looking for a high-octane, claustrophobic nightmare that never seems to let up then Green Room is the film for you.
