10 Recent Movie Cameos NOBODY Saw Coming

From Deadpool & Wolverine to Dune: Part Two, these recent movie cameos blew everyone away.

Who among us doesn't love a movie cameo? When they're done right they can add a little pinch of flavour to an already fun film, and it's often all the better if said cameo is massively unexpected.

It's always a blast to see a surprise actor show up in a film totally out of nowhere, do their thing for a few minutes - or perhaps even less - and then be on their way.

For while cameos are commonly publicised or leaked ahead of time, nothing beats the fun of audiences being totally bamboozled by them.

And that's absolutely the case in these 10 recent movies, which saw actors make unexpected, unpublicised, even uncredited cameos in some cases, which left the Internet abuzz.

Were most of them of considerable substance? Not really, but that's not the point - they were fun, surprising, and perhaps even occasionally dramatic, adding a touch of pizazz to movies that, more often than not, were already plenty entertaining.

No matter how feverishly you read movie news and rumours online, there's always the possibility that filmmakers will manage to sneak a secret cameo past you, and in recent times, it doesn't get any better than this lot...

10. Jason Momoa - The Fall Guy

The Fall Guy ends with duplicitous action star Tom Ryder (Aaron Taylor-Johnson) being arrested for trying to frame his heroic stuntman Colt Seavers (Ryan Gosling) for a death he himself caused.

The final scene shows the trailer for the film Ryder was working on at the time of his arrest - a space opera called Metalstorm, directed by Jody Moreno (Emily Blunt).

But as it turns out, Ryder has been replaced, with his part evidently being reshot with Jason freakin' Momoa.

The trailer hilariously introduces Momoa as an "MTV Best Kiss award nominee," after which we're treated to a glorious sizzle reel of the guy mugging, kicking ass, and dropping absurd quips.

It doesn't take a genius to realise that Momoa was a much better fit for this campy brand of action schlock anyway.

To sweeten the cameo, a mid-credits scene reveals that Tom was actually killed in a pyrotechnics explosion while being arrested, after which his personal assistant Alma (Stephanie Hsu) races to call up Momoa's agent.
