10 Recent Movie Deaths That Pissed Everyone Off
2. Stefani & Charlie Reyes - Final Destination Bloodlines
Final Destination Bloodlines did an impressive job of raising the stakes from the outset, given that protagonist Stefani (Kaitlyn Santa Juana) and her brother Charlie (Teo Briones) are the end of an entire bloodline of people who, in the eyes of Death itself, shouldn't actually exist.
Bloodlines begins with Stefani's grandmother Iris (Gabrielle Rose) averting a catastrophe in 1968, in turn saving the lives of countless people as well as her own, ensuring that she goes on to have a family.
Death then spends the movie wiping out everyone in this forbidden bloodline from Iris onwards, and even accepting the tendency for every Final Destination movie to more-or-less end the same way with the protagonists being killed, many fans expected that the filmmakers might grant a stay of execution for Stefani and Charlie.
After all, Stefani attempts to repeat Kimberly Corman's tactic from Final Destination 2, by dying and being resurrected, but the cruel final scene reveals that because Stefani's heart never stopped, she never really "died."
At that moment, a timber-carrying train crashes into the neighbourhood, and despite the siblings' attempts to flee, they're both pulped to death by the train's flying logs.
While the Final Destination franchise can't let too many of its protagonists off the hook, Stefani and Charlie were likeable enough that many hoped they'd find a way to prevail.
